"the development of the whole person"
All that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you (John
Our curriculum is broad and balanced, covering all subjects from the National Curriculum. It is designed to offer challenge to all abilities, stretching the minds of the most able to become enquiring and independent thinkers, yet offering support to those who find their work demanding. There is sufficient depth and breadth to allow all children the chance to succeed whenever possible and teaching styles are adapted to the needs of every member of the class to enable this to happen.
As students progress from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4, the choices and opportunities given to them allow for specialisation whilst maintaining the general aim of a broad and balanced curriculum. All students are offered the opportunity of work experience and are encouraged to become involved in out of school activities, such as sport, music and taking an interest in the school environment, so that development of the whole person will be achieved.
Fundamental to our curriculum is a desire to develop the spiritual, emotional and artistic qualities of each person. At the heart of this are our formal Religious Education and "Nurturing Human Wholeness" programmes that seek to help children find out more about their place in God's world and in humanity. All students follow programmes developed in the beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic and Church of England traditions that underpin our spiritual life as a worshipping community.
