The mystery was finally solved tonight. It was the barmaid!
She took revenge on the horrid Mr Fox who had bought the Granby Arms and was going to put her sister on the scrapheap after running the place for 18 years.
After removing a fuse from the electrical supplies, the lights on the stairwell no longer worked and Mr Fox fell off the new staircase (which had no handrail) and broke his neck when he landed in the stairwell.

Many thanks go to the intrepid actors (Mrs Hey, Mrs Mills, Miss Wise, Mr Allsebrook, Mr Hall and Mr Steele), to our stage designer (Mrs Mills), to the St Michael's Association for organising the event and the tombola, and to Mr & Mrs Kelly who supplied the pie'n'peas supper at half time.
