Bucharest Have a look here to see what Bucharest is like. It is the location of our Romanian partner school, Scoala 307. Romania is one of the Eastern European countries hoping to join the European Union in the near future. Our partner school does not have a website yet - perhaps this will be one of the outcomes of our partnership? Sadly, this school was not awarded the 2005 project by their National Agency, so will have to wait and see if they can become a partner for the 2006 round. We still keep in touch with our link teacher, Minela Olteanu, by e-mail and letter.

Why not find out a little more about them? Our link teacher is Sisko Salomaa, who teaches English at the school.

Liceo Gulli e Pennisi The Liceo Classico Gulli e Pennisi was one of our prospective partner schools in the EUROPRIDES project. It is in Acireale, a city on the east coast of Sicily. It is in the shadow of Mount Etna, one of the most famous active volcanos in Europe. It is also near the famous resort of Taormina, where there are Greek and Roman ruins. The whole area of eastern Sicily is rich in the history of the Mediterranean cultures that gave the Western world its major civilisations. Sadly, they were not awarded the project by their National Agency and will have to sit out this year as a sleeping partner.

Niedzwiedz Niedzwiedz is the small town in southern Poland, not far from Krakow, where our Polish partner school is situated. The area is not far from the Tatra Mountains where Pope John Paul II used to go skiing and walking. The area around Niedzwiedz is very rural, with hills and rivers running through the valleys.

Niedzwiedz Gimnazjum Our partner school is called the Wladyslaw Orkan Gimnazjum; it is a Primary and Lower Secondary school with students aged from 3 to 16 across the school. Our link teacher is Boguslawa Gniecka who teaches English at the Secondary school.
